before you order.
A cubic yard measures volume: a space 3 feet wide, 3 feet long, and 3 feet tall.
What if my area is an irregular shape?
Break it into smaller rectangles, circles, or triangles. Calculate each section separately and add the cubic yards together. Avoid counting overlapping areas twice.
How do I enter feet and inches?
For 6 feet 6 inches, enter 6 in the ft field and 6 in the in field. Leave either field blank if you don?t need it. For half an inch, enter 0.5 in the in field. Decimal feet still work: enter 6.5 ft and leave inches blank. Material depth stays in inches.
How much does one cubic yard cover?
The deeper the layer, the less area it covers. These figures are before compaction or waste.
